Domagoj Marijančević

Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine, Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb, employed in a cumulative (joint) employment relationship. He earned his master and doctoral degrees at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb, where he defended his dissertation in 2020 titled "Effects of a Repeated Sprint Training Protocol on F2-Isoprostane Concentration."

He is a specialist in medical biochemistry and laboratory medicine with over 15 years of experience in clinical diagnostics and holds the European Specialist in Laboratory Medicine (EuSpLM) certification. He currently serves as Head of the Department of Laboratory Endocrinology at the Clinical Institute of Chemistry, Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Centre in Zagreb. Previously, he worked at Dubrava University Hospital (KB Dubrava) as Quality Manager of the Clinical Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics.

He actively participates in the work of expert bodies of the Croatian Chamber of Medical Biochemists and the Croatian Society for Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, as well as in laboratory accreditation procedures as a technical assessor for the Croatian Accreditation Agency. He has published more than 20 scientific papers in international journals. As a lecturer and course leader, he is actively involved in the professional development of colleagues.

 

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Laboratory endocrinology; evaluation of new biomarkers in the diagnosis of endocrinopathies, development and optimization of analytical methods with improved performance, biological variability of hormones and metabolites, and establishment of reference intervals. Sports biochemistry; biochemical response to new training protocols.
