Dijana Babić
Dijana Babić was born on May 11, 1976, in Slavonski Brod. She graduated from medical school in 1994 and began her career as a trainee nurse at the General Hospital "Dr. Josip Benčević" in Slavonski Brod. She continued her professional experience at the University Hospital Center "Rebro" and later at the "Magdalena" Clinic for Cardiovascular Diseases, where since 1997 she has held a series of responsible positions – from shift supervisor in the Intensive Care Unit to Assistant Director of Nursing, a position she has held since 2017.
Throughout her career, she has actively participated in the work of expert bodies, including the Commission for Medicinal Products, the Clinic's Professional Council, and the Quality Commission, and she also served as the Head Nurse of the Department of Cardiology. She has distinguished herself in the education of future nurses – as a mentor and lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health of the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek. Since 2023, he has been involved in teaching at the Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb as an assistant professor in the Department of Nursing, where he teaches the courses Nursing Care of Adults, Nursing Care of the Elderly, and Organization, Administration, and Management in Nursing Care.
She has attended numerous training programs in the field of healthcare quality management and is a certified lead auditor for the ISO 9001:2015 standard. She has also actively participated in international projects, including as a participant in the training program for expert mentors as part of the EU project “Improving Health Care Through Mentorship Development.”
Her academic journey is marked by several degrees: she holds a bachelor's degree in nursing, a graduate degree in nursing with a master’s in social gerontology, and in 2021, she earned a PhD in social gerontology from Alma Mater Europaea University in Maribor, Slovenia.
Alongside her extensive professional experience, she is characterized by her expertise, dedication to healthcare, and continuous commitment to improving the healthcare system through mentorship, education, and quality management.
