Dario Rahelić
Associate professor Dario Rahelic, MD, Ph.D., FACE, FDI, FRCP Edin. is a specialist of internal medicine, endocrinologist and diabetologist. He is the director of Vuk Vrhovac University Clinic for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases, Merkur University Hospital, Zagreb, Croatia. Dr. Rahelic served as a Board member and Secretary of IDF Europe in the biennium 2015-2017 and chair of IDF Young Leaders in Diabetes Programme. He is a president of the Croatian Society for Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders of the Croatian Medical Association an executive committee member of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Study Group of EASD, Croatian Endocrine Society, Croatian Society for Obesity, and Croatian Society for Endocrine Oncology. Dr. Rahelic published several chapters in Croatian and international books. He was an invited speaker at many Croatian and international conferences.
He is an associate professor at Catholic University of Croatia School of Medicine and an associate professor at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek School of Medicine. He also participates in teaching students at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology. He was a visiting scientist at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Canada, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA, and Motol Clinic, in Prague, Czech Republic. Ass. prof. Rahelic is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE), a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition (FACN), a Fellow of Diabetes India (FDI), and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP Edin). He is a visiting professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia. He received the Young Investigator’s Award from Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group of EASD, the Etzwiller Rising Star Award, the Croatian Endocrine Society award, the Award for International Collaboration by the Macedonian Scientific Association of Endocrinologists, the Gold Medal of the Arabic Association for Study of Diabetes, and IDF Award for outstanding service.
