Summer School “Faith in Context” Begins in Šibenik
Another international summer school organized by the Catholic University of Croatia is taking place in Šibenik — the Summer School Faith in Context, running from 1 to 6 September 2025, aims to deepen participants’ understanding of faith by comparing it with different religious experiences and encouraging critical reflection on theologies and religious practices through encounters with diverse perspectives.
The school is held within the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) and began in Zagreb with visits and lectures on religious communities (the Baptist Church in Zagreb, the Greek Catholic Church, and the Serbian Orthodox Church), accompanied by lectures related to them.
Students and professors involved in this project come from Italy, Austria, Mexico, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany. They were welcomed on behalf of the Catholic University of Croatia by Assoc. Prof. Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Sociology, and Assoc. Prof. Zoran Turza, Ph.D., Coordinator of the University Chair of Theology.
Throughout the week, students and professors from different countries will have the opportunity to reflect together on faith in the contemporary social and cultural context through lectures, workshops, and discussions, while also engaging with the local community and exploring its rich cultural heritage.
