Student Panel on Sociological Practice Held

On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, a student panel titled Sociological Practice: An Example from a Social Welfare Institution was held, organized by the University Department of Sociology. As part of the panel, an interactive lecture was delivered by Maja Odorjan Novak, PhD, from the Centre for Education and Care Lug in Samobor.

Undergraduate and graduate sociology students, along with department faculty members, had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the specific institutional modes of work of sociologists, as well as to become acquainted with concrete challenges and practical experiences. The speaker was introduced by the Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, PhD, who emphasized the importance of connecting theoretical knowledge with practical experience and highlighted that such events are extremely important for the professional development of students.

The panel took place in a dynamic and stimulating atmosphere, with active student participation and discussion on current issues in the field of social welfare and applied sociology.
