Humanitarian Flea Market “Under the Fairy Lights” – Fashion for Good Deeds
On Wednesday and Thursday, 18 and 19 December 2025, the Laudato Si’ Centre, in cooperation with the University Department of Sociology, organised a humanitarian Christmas flea market at the Catholic University of Croatia, in the student space Lux Vera.
All clothing items, footwear and fashion accessories were collected through donations from students and employees of our University. The large quantity of donated items, as well as the humanitarian funds raised, testify to the strong response, solidarity and charitable spirit that thrive within our university community.
The flea market was more than a place for exchanging clothes—it became a space of encounter, dialogue and concrete care for others, while also serving as a reminder of the importance of a responsible attitude towards consumption and the items we use.
All collected funds will be donated to the association Hrabrost, which supports children with developmental difficulties and young people with disabilities, thereby jointly contributing to its mission and to improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable among us.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in this beautiful Christmas initiative through their donations, attendance and support, demonstrating that fashion can also be an act of love and solidarity.
Special thanks go to the volunteers who selflessly dedicated their time and staffed the collection and sales shifts—without their help and commitment, this initiative would not have been possible.
We will strive to make the organisation of humanitarian flea markets a tradition, and we will inform you about the next programme in due course.
