Communication Studies Professors Presented at the “Dubrovnik Media Days 2025” Conference

At the international scientific conference Dubrovnik Media Days, held from 22 to 24 October 2025 in Dubrovnik, Assist. Prof. Lucija Mihaljević, Ph.D., and Leali Osmančević, Ph.D., from the Department of Communication Studies at the Catholic University of Croatia, participated as presenters.

The conference was organized by the University of Dubrovnik (Department of Communication Studies) in cooperation with the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom of the European University Institute and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU). This year’s conference, themed “Generative AI: Transforming Journalism, Strategic Communication, and Education”, brought together numerous national and international researchers exploring the impact of artificial intelligence tools on journalism, strategic communication, and education.

The authors presented their joint paper titled “Rethinking Identification and Communication Processes in a Digitally-Driven Society.” The paper explores critical theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding identity and digital communication in the context of new technologies and digital platforms.

The presented paper is part of the one-year research project “Identity and Technology – Processes of Identification, Communication, and Interaction with New Technologies”, one of the projects funded through the Catholic University of Croatia’s Call for Multi-Year and One-Year Scientific Projects. The project is led by Assist. Prof. Lucija Mihaljević, Ph.D.
