Communication Sciences Students Attend Field Class at Tiskara Zagreb

First-year undergraduate students of communication studies visited Tiskara Zagreb on Tuesday, 5 May, as part of a field class within the course Print Journalism.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity to observe the entire newspaper production process and to become familiar with key concepts such as CTP (computer-to-plate), rotary printing, waste sheets (makulatura), and paper grammage—terms essential for understanding how newspapers are produced.

Prof. Igor Kanižaj, PhD, briefly explained the main stages of newspaper production, while the students were guided through the process by Aleksandra Hajsek, Head of the Production Team at Tiskara Zagreb. During the visit, students also observed the simultaneous printing of the daily newspapers 24sata and Jutarnji list, both produced at this printing facility.
