Associate Professor Anto Mikić participates in panel discussion “Is the Church Afraid of the Media?”

Associate Professor Anto Mikić, PhD, from the University Department of Communication Studies at the Catholic University of Croatia, participated in the panel discussion “Is the Church Afraid of the Media?”, the first event of its kind organized by Bitno.net, where Professor Mikić serves as Editor-in-Chief. The discussion was held in a packed hall at the Franciscan monastery in Zagreb’s Dubrava district.

Alongside Professor Mikić, the panel featured RTL journalist Andrija Jarak, Zvonimir Ancić, MSc, spokesperson for the Croatian Bishops’ Conference and Acting Director of the Croatian Catholic Network, and Vlatka Kalinić, journalist and columnist for Vjerujem.hr. The discussion was moderated by Tino Krvavica, journalist and member of the Bitno.net editorial team.

The participants discussed the relationship between the Church and the media, opportunities to improve communication between them, and journalists’ experiences of communicating with Church institutions. The event brought together numerous representatives of Catholic media, active lay Catholics, and priests, providing an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing the Church in today’s media environment.
