Archbishop of San Francisco Msgr. Cordileone Visits Our University
On Friday, 6 March 2026, our University hosted the Archbishop of San Francisco, Msgr. Salvatore J. Cordileone, accompanied by Fr. Elvir Tabaković.

The Catholic University of Croatia was represented by the Rector, Prof. Željko Tanjić, PhD; the Vice-Rector for Quality, Identity and Mission, Prof. Ante Crnčević, PhD; the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Jasna Ćurković Nimac, PhD; Assist. Prof. Odilon Singbo, PhD from the Department of Engineering, and the University Chaplain, Rev. Branimir Jagodić.
During the meeting, Rector Tanjić presented our University—its study programmes, distinctive features, mission, vision, goals and projects, as well as the path of renewal from a former military barracks to a modern campus, with particular emphasis on its mission, especially the preservation and promotion of Catholic identity and tradition, which are deeply rooted in education.
The Archbishop spoke about the state of Catholic universities and the Church in the United States of America and highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Catholic identity alongside the academic excellence of Catholic universities. After the meeting, the Archbishop signed the Catholic University of Croatia Book of Distinguished Guests and, accompanied by our representatives, toured the campus.
